Irish Londoner Sean Hughes, comedian, writer, radio presenter, poet and actor, died on 16 October 2017. He was 51. In this monologue, Adrian recalls being on the same comedy bill as him upstairs in a pub in Stoke Newington, just as Sean’s career was taking off.
Their paths crossed again on a TV show years later, and Adrian remembers that as well as near-misses on the phone and reflections on how things might have been different.
Above all, he celebrates Sean’s range of talents, his comedy legacy and his one-off way of seeing the world.
No Greek pop singers were harmed in the making of this show.
