East End Mindfulness

From an East End London council estate to the Royal Academy of Music – at the age of two! That’s part of the unique life story of clinical psychologist Dr Genevieve von Lob. There’s more in her new book Five Deep Breaths: The Power of Mindful Parenting, which she talks about here.

Adrian also joins Genevieve on a pilgrimage back to the site of her Stepney Green home as a child. As well as happy memories, it has one huge tragic association for her, as you’ll hear. Will going back to her roots mean revisiting the trauma she suffered at the age of nine?

In the studio, Genevieve talks about what mindfulness means and how it can help you raise children – and how you can look after yourself better, whether or not you’re a parent.
